British Values
Promoting British Values at Woodhouse Primary School
The DfE emphasise the need “to create and enforce clear and rigorous expectations on all schools to promote the fundamental British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs.”
Some examples of ways in which we reinforce these values:
- Class contracts
- Election of House Representatives
- Pupil questionnaires and Year 6 exit interviews
- The Woodhouse Way
- Visits from the Police and Fire Service
- Youth Justice project at Manchester Crown Court
- E Safety lessons
- PSHE lessons and P4C (Philosophy for Children)
- Themed assemblies
- Religious Education
- Visits to places of worship and visitors to school.
