Children
Woodhouse Primary School has a friendly and welcoming atmosphere and all of our children are cared for and valued as they make their journey through our school.
Expectation are high and behaviour in school is consistently excellent. Our Last Ofsted report states, ‘The behaviour of the pupils continues to be a strength of the school.’
The children mix well through the year groups as well as with their own peers. Play leaders ensure playtimes are enjoyable for everyone, helping all of our learners to be engaged and behaving well throughout lunchtime and playtimes.
Children are encouraged to take on responsibilities and follow the Woodhouse Way by ‘looking after the people, places and things in our school. They have jobs in class and become prefects, librarians and reading buddies.
The House Council encourages a sense of partnership while democratic representation provides a real context for citizenship education. Pupils develop useful life-skills as well as the opportunity to have their say on current issues and suggest ways to improve their school.
